2023 Sedona Mountain Bike Festival Schedule

Thursday, March 2nd

Noon – Registration and packet pick up open from Noon – 6 pm at Thunder Mountain Bikes.

Friday, March 3rd

All festival activities for Friday are canceled. We are allowing for one more day of melt, and to get the vendors moved into the venue.

Noon – 6 – Registration / bag pick up at Thunder Mountain Bikes (1695 W. Hwy 89a Sedona, AZ 86336)

Saturday, March 4th

9 am – Registration open.

9 am – Casual group ride with Sam Schultz. Meet at the Rocky Mountain demo tent prepared to ride for 1-2.5 hours with bailout options along the way. All abilities welcome. Come share stories and the love of the ride with this former Olympian and National Champion. Stop by at the Rocky Mountain tent for refreshments and snacks after and just in time to watch (or participate) in the Dual Slalom Finals. (1-2.5hrs)

9 am – Join Jess The Maker at the Stan’s booth for some free donuts and DART tool demonstrations.

9 am – 5 pm – Come by the Industry Nine tent to check out the All New iRiX headset and DEMO a set of i9 wheels. RAFFLE drawing at 4:45PM.

9:15-9:45 am Enduro Bites MTB Yoga with Joanna Yates 9:15-9:30am *All Levels Welcome! Start your morning off with Yoga and Enduro Bites Beta Red Pre Ride.

9 am- 4:30 pm San Util Design raffle ticket pickup. Drawing at 4:45pm for a $100 San Util Design gift card. While you’re at the tent ask about demoing a hip pack. We will have a few available.

9:30 am – 4:30 pm Stop by SEVENiDP during the day to get a ticket for the drawing at 5:00 PM. 

9:30 am –  E-MTB Shimano EP8 / Linkglide group ride. Led by Legendary MTB Hall of Fame rider Dave Cullinan and master coach and trials legend Ryan Leech. Visit the Shimano booth prior to the ride to sign up and reserve an EP8 / Linkglide equipped E-MTB. Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the ride time to get your demo bike set-up. Ride is free. Must be registered with the Sedona festival. Our E-Bike demos are only available for group led rides. Special Shimano swag to all participants + 1 Lazer trail helmet will be given out at the end of the ride to one lucky recipient. Ride rolls from Shimano booth at 9:30 AM. Approx. 1-1.5 Hour Ride – All levels

9:30 am – Absolute Bikes & Specialized Triple-H Ride – Hangover, 12 rider limit, sign up  here.  Meet at the Specialized tent, leaving via shuttle at 10:00 am.  Giving away tires to anyone that completes all 3 rides. Expert level ride. Very difficult, mandatory drops, no go arounds and physically demanding.  Sign Up here.

​​10 am – First shuttle leaves.

10 am –  Shimano “Women’s only” ride. Led by Olympic athlete and multi-time World Champion Jill Kintner, Pivot Cycles Enduro racer Stefanie McDaniel and Ride MTB’s April Zastrow. Ride from the venue on a fun route with our lady ride leaders Visit Shimano booth prior to ride to reserve your spot. Spots will be limited. Meet at Shimano booth approx. 10 min before ride start and be ready to roll at 11:00 AM. Special Shimano swag to all participants + 1 Lazer trail helmet will be given out at the end of the ride to one lucky recipient. 1 to 1.5 Hour Ride – All levels, no drop fun ride with some trail tips from Jill!

10 am – Join Jeff Lenosky – Trail Boss for a fun NO DROP ride. We will stop and session some tricky sections of trail and discuss ways to improve your skills!

10 am – Pit Viper – Group ride with Mo and Hannah and the Pit Viper crew! All skill levels welcome, lots of stoke and giveaways!!! Meet at the Pit Viper booth

10 am – Aaron Tuttle of Southern Utah MTB Group Ride. Meet at the Trail Manos tent – this is an intermediate ride.

10 am – adidas Five Ten + Dirt Series Women’s Ride Meet-Ups (meet at adidas Five Ten Booth) Both Beginner & Intermediate Advanced Ride Options. Up to 10 women per coach (confirming 2 or 3 coaches so up to 30) Green-Black level trails Five Ten Flannels, Dirt Series Socks, for first sign-ups. Raffle at booth to win a full Five Ten MTB Kit, other Five Ten /// TERREX swag and a Dirt Series Weekend Camp.

10 am – Women’s ride led by Sonya Looney. Meet at the Industry Nine, be sure to ask about demo wheels. Beginner/Intermediate – no drop ride. 1.5-2 hour ride.

10 am – Group ride hosted by Transition Bikes and led by TR Staff and other Giddy Up Squad members. All skill levels are welcome. Central Sedona trails, 1.5 – 2 hours. Meet at the Transition booth. 

10 am – Giant/Liv Co-Ed Ride with our ambassadors MTBAlan, Devin DeBruhl and Heather Munive

10:15 am – Meet at the Dharco Tent for #NoOrdinaryRide led by Sedona Local Joanna Yates! Intermediate 2 Hour Ride. Join to have the most fun. 

11  am -1:30 pm Group ride with Remy Metailler, leaving from the Propain booth. Remy will be signing autographs after from 1:30 pm -3:0 pm.

11 – Sedona bike park jump jam hosted by YT w/ Dakoda Osusky and Anthony Napolitan.

All day – Brett Tippie scavenger hunt hosted on YT social, “Find a YT Duck, and bring it to YT tent at 4:20 to claim a prize pack from Brett Tippie.

11 am – 4 pm – Come test your skills with NAU Cycling, Shimano, and Rocky Mountain on the Dual Slalom Track.  Free with your festival pass.  (Must have a festival pass to participate) Roll through from 11 am-4pm and see how you stack up, top 16 men, 16 women, 16 under 16 showdown Saturday

11-11:20 am – Hydra Hub service clinic. Drive mechanism explained, maintenance, ease of service that you can do at home. 20 minute tutorial to show you just how easy it is to ride the best. 

12 – 3 pm – Sober Happy Hour presented by Twisted Spoke CBD & Atheletic Brewing! 

12pm – Trail Manos/Unity Ride Shop BMX Team. Meet at the Trail Manos tent at 12pm to check out the park and pump track exhibition – from free ride, race, park, to street, all disciplines will be in exhibition.

1 pm – Beer garden opens

1 pm  – Rocky Mountain – Join Wade Simmons, godfather of freeride and member of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, and Sam Schultz, former Olympian and National Champion for a thrilling group ride on Sedona’s iconic Hogs trail. Experience the rush of world-class trails and breathtaking scenery as you ride alongside these two mountain bike legends. Meet at Rocky Mountain Tent. >> Book your spot HERE << (Advanced only, 2.5-3hrs) Stop by at the Rocky Mountain tent for refreshments and snacks after.

1 pm – Calirado Kid Group Ride. Meet at the Trail Manos tent – this is an intermediate ride.

1 pm – Jamis Bikes ride with Wheelie King and YouTube star Lawton Denis and Pink Bike Academy contestant Amanda Hamilton. This is your chance to try Jamis 3VO full-suspension bikes Hardline and Portal. The ride will leave from the Jamis booth at the festival and will hit local trails starting with Grand Central and finishing at the bike park where we can put that suspension to the test. The ride will end with a short wheelie/manual clinic. The expected ride time will be 90 minutes – 2 hours. This is an intermediate, No-drop ride.

1 pm – Ride with David Lieb. Meet at the Industry Nine, be sure to ask about demo wheels. Beginner/Intermediate ride. 1-1.5 hour ride. 

1 pm – Group ride hosted by Transition Bikes and led by TR Staff and other Giddy Up Squad members. Advanced. Highline, Hangover, Hogs (conditions dependent), 3.5 – 4 hours. Meet at the Transition booth. 

1 pm –  Giant Skills Clinic – with MTBAlan and Devin DeBruhl – Learn how to ride flat corners, exit speed of corners and small drops

1:30-3:30 pm ZeeCeeKeely on the Main Stage

2 pm – Shimano “Priority” Shuttle ride. Led by “Trail Boss” YouTube star Jeff Lenosky, Olympic medalist and Multi-World Champion Jill Kintner and everyone’s favorite shredder Bryn Atkinson and RIDE MTB’s Kyle Warner. Shuttle to Carol Canyon. Starting at the Scheurman MTN trailhead – Scorpion, Pyramid – Chavez Ranch Road – Ridge trail – Sketch – Ridge trail – Short road spin back to the venue.Must sign-up prior to ride to guarantee a seat on the shuttle.

Visit Shimano booth prior to ride to reserve your spot on the ride.

As a group we will head to the awaiting VIP shuttle at 2:00 PM. Approx. 2 hour – Intermediate + with a couple short advanced sections.

2 – 2:30 pm – Demystify your Derailleur: Learn how to make on the go adjustments when your shifting is less than stellar with pro mechanic Casey Wytaske.

3 pm – Last shuttle departs.

3:00 pm – Hermosa Tour’s Revenge of the Nerds Tricycle Race! Pedal hard and CHUG for pride and prizes! Register your team in the shuttle pit.

3 pm – Women’s ride with Stefanie McDaniel. Meet at the Industry Nine, be sure to ask about demo wheels. Beginner/Intermediate with bailouts. 2 hour ride.

3 pm – Please join members of the T3 Mountain bike team for no drop ride Saturday, come prepared with your bike, helmet, water and a smile.  All levels welcome, the ride will be from the venue to Adobe Jack, where we will stop and do some skills practice along the way.

3:15 pm – Specialized Wheel and Tire Clinic Part 2: Join us to learn wheel maintenance basics from wheel truing and tension to how to clean and regrease your freehub! 

3:30pm – Sram/TIme Footdown Throwdown. Grand prize will be a set of TIME Speciale 8s. Swag for all contestants! – Meet at the Sram/Time booth

4:00-6:00 pm decker. on the Main Stage

4 pm – DT Swiss X Continental Tubeless Tire Workshop at the DT Swiss booth – Join DT Swiss and Continental for a hands-on tubeless tire workshop. Practice rims, rim tape, tires and tools will be provided for participants during the workshop.

4:20 pm – Happy hour at YT tent hosted by Brett Tippie (Announcing 5-10 Scavenger hunt winners as well).

4:30 pm – Sedona MTB Festival Bunny Hop Competition Hosted by Thunder Mountain Bikes:  Enter the competition by registering at the SMBA booth or join in to boogie down as we curate one of the biggest parties of the Sedona MTB Festival.  A free keg is provided by Wanderlust Brewery with fresh music, rowdy crowds, over the top hosts and even our own SMBA judging panel.  It’s an event you don’t want to miss.

4:30 am – 5:50 pm San Util Design Happy Hour come enjoy a FREE  brew, or NA option and hang out with the San Util team, dream up adventures, talk racing, drive RC cars, and design your dream pack.

5 pm – Last return shuttle back to the expo area.

6 pm – RAFFLE DRAWING – Join us at the main stage right after decker. for the drawing of the Wheel Fun Raffle.  

7 pm – Expo is closed and all cars need to be off parking fields.  

7 pm – Biketown Film – Join Freehub and the Verde Valley Cycling Coalition (VVCC) for the first screening of Biketown, proceeds supporting the VVCC. Biketown is a story of mountain bikers, unlikely partnerships and the communities they create. Get your tickets in advance here.

9:30 PM – Close – Freehub is excited to host a night of revelry celebrating the culture of mountain biking. Join the Freehub crew at the Stagecoach Sedona for an evening of friends, drinks, music and take a ride on the in-house mechanical bull. The official Sedona Mountain Bike Festival Afterparty kicks off at 9:30 pm and will be rocking until close. Cap off your Saturday night right with us at the Stagecoach!

10:30 am – Shimano Tech Ride &amp; Skill “Sessioning”. Led by master coach and trials legend, Ryan Leech, for a fun, skill focused ride. We’ll stop at all the fun technical trail features where Ryan will offer instruction and you’ll then have a chance to session them and gain valuable feedback directly from Ryan. Visit Shimano booth prior to ride to reserve your spot. Spots will be limited. Meet at Shimano booth approx. 10 min before ride start and be ready to roll at 11:00 AM. 11 am – Women’s all level, no drop ride at Carroll Canyon with Molly Joyce starting from the Specialized tent!

12 pm – Ride with the i9 Crew. All abilities welcome. Party Pace – no drop ride. 1.5-2 hour ride with bail outs.  Meet at the Industry Nine, be sure to ask about demo wheels.

11 – Dual Slalom Finals for top 16 riders, men, women, kids under 16

1 pm – Beer garden opens. 

1 pm – Giant Ride – Join MTBAlan and Devin DeBruhl – Ride all the things they love at Sedona!

1:30-3:30 pm The Naughty Bits on the main stage

2 pm – Last Demo Bike Goes Out
